About First Element

At First Element, we help entrepreneurs, barbershops, tattoo studios, salons, spas, and other small businesses create premium private label products under their own brand. Since 2013, we’ve worked with businesses at different stages of growth, from first-time startups to established companies expanding their product lines.

Our mission is simple: make private label more accessible. We know how quickly startup costs can add up, so we focus on lower minimum order quantities and flexible options that allow businesses to start small, test their market, and grow at a pace that makes sense for them. Many of our current products can be ordered in quantities as low as six units.

How First Element Started

First Element was founded by Jamie Comber after he gained hands-on experience manufacturing natural products while working with OnlyGreen. During that time, he managed manufacturing and worked alongside third-party companies and biochemists, building practical knowledge in oils, balms, and other personal-care products.

When OnlyGreen closed, Jamie decided to use that experience to help other businesses create products of their own. One of First Element’s earliest private label projects was developed for the CrossFit industry, and that opportunity helped shape the direction of the business.

From the beginning, First Element has focused on helping other people build brands of their own.

Growing With Our Clients

First Element has grown organically through the businesses we work with. Small first orders have turned into repeat business, individual products have grown into full product lines, and many client relationships have continued for years.

We’re a small business too, so we understand that an order of 12 or 25 products can be a big step when someone is launching something new. We don’t believe smaller orders should mean less attention. Starting small can be one of the smartest ways to test an idea, learn what customers want, and grow with confidence.

What began with a smaller range of products has expanded into beard care, men’s grooming, tattoo aftercare, skincare, salon and spa products, hair care, body care, nail care, and more. Even as we’ve grown, our focus has stayed the same: helping smaller businesses create professional products under their own name.

More Than a Manufacturer

We’ve learned that creating the product is only one part of building a brand. Some clients come to us with everything ready to go, while others need help with labels, packaging, photography, websites, or marketing.

That’s why First Element offers support beyond manufacturing, including label solutions, graphic design, product photography, marketing imagery, social media content, and Shopify website development.

Our goal is to make the process easier and give businesses the flexibility to choose the support they actually need.

Our products are manufactured in Canada in small batches using carefully selected ingredients and professional formulations. We continue to evaluate our products, ingredients, packaging, and processes to maintain a strong balance of quality, consistency, and cost.
